So today was my darling mother's birthday! She got to do whatever she wanted to...which included sleeping late (I wish!), not getting dressed until noon, and eating a wonderful dinner at Grandma's house. The food was GREAT (what Madge food isn't?) and the strawberry cake and home made ice cream were rockin'! Cati and John decided that since it was Mimi's birthday, we needed to buy silly string to shoot her with. Boy, that was messy! Cati got her pretty good as you can see from the pics!
Formally the Haskell Rascals...I chose to continue this blog because it's part of my life. Change happens, and it can be a good thing!

When the cat's away...
...the mice get extremely bored! Daddy Haskell is in Ft. Worth today doing a skills test for an instructor course he is enrolled in. Many kisses and we hope you do well!
I think he really enjoys his new job, but we have been spoiled to having him home at nights now. Without him here, we really don't know what to do with ourselves! Should we shop? Nope. Should we go play outside? Wish we could, but it's pouring rain. Should we just sleep the day away? That would be nice, but let's stay in reality. I guess we'll have to just sit around and stare at each other, or maybe watch a movie. Hmmmm, so many choices. ;)
I actually got to stay up and sew last night, which is something I haven't done in weeks. Like I said, I enjoy having John home at night, but it sometimes cuts into my "creative time." When he was on shift, I would stay up until 1am sewing and it was fun! The other night, I tried to start a project around 10pm and John was already in bed. He kept fake snoring just so I would get annoyed and quit my sewing---which in turn was annoying him. Jeez, just because he gets up at 5am every morning for work doesn't mean he gets to whine and cry when I want to work---right? Just kidding!

ALERT THE MEDIA!!
We have just had a major breakthrough in the pottytraining! Christian came running through the living room just now, in the process of ripping off his diaper. When I asked him what he was doing, he said, "I need to poop!" He took the diaper off, sat on the potty, and did his business in it ALL BY HIMSELF!! WOOHOO!! We are getting closer to being trained, I can feel it...
More of C3
Caroline is now almost 5 months old, and she is getting SO BIG! She sprouted 2 teeth over the past week and she is a biting monster. ;) Also, she measured 26 inches long at her 4 month checkup...that's much longer than the other 2 C's. They were both only 25.5 inches long at their 6 month checkups! We put her in the walker yesterday and she LOVES it. Her feet are flat on the ground when she's in it--so maybe she'll take off running soon. Just kidding!
Caroline and I went to a jewelry party last night with Jill and Alexis, so I took that opportunity to get an updated picture of the girls.

Play-Doh Fun the Haskell Way
Today was kinda boring...that is until we decided to play with some good ol' play-doh. It's Veggie Tales play-doh in cool colors! Anyway, I have had several mentions that I, the Haskell Momma, am not featured in any blogs yet, so I am including some fun pics w/Caitlin.

A Swimmin' Kind of Day
Hello again! Today we went to a birthday party for John's cousin's little girl, Ashlee, who turned 8. She had a swimming party at the WT Activities Center, and let me tell you, it was a blast! Of course Mommy and Caroline didn't swim, but we had fun watching from the sidelines. The swimming center has a big lap pool, a baby area, a swirling pool, a lazy river, and a huge twisty slide. It all made for one tiring afternoon.

C3's Friends!
There have been a ton of babies born lately that are the same age as Caroline. First there was Brett Reasor born in July (his daddy works w/John), then Laney Baxter born in December (her momma Tasha went to school with me), then Judah Godsey born in January (his daddy is John's good friend), then Phoenix Lindseth born in January (Misty's little girl), then Alexis Crum in February (her daddy works w/John), then Whitaker Tullos born yesterday (his Mimi, Dianne, is my good friend), then my pal Lindsay Shumacher is due in April with Sawyer, and FINALLY best friend Tina Hare is due in September. WOW!!
Anyway, here are some pics of Caroline's friends. More to come!
Miss Sassy Frass
Caroline Sunshine is a Model
I really enjoy sewing, and I love to sew for the kids! I also have started making hairbows for the girls (they will be featured in a later post). Recently, my friend and partner in crime, Misty, showed me a website that has lists of all kinds of things you can make. Well, I started with these leg warmers for babies called "Babylegs." Very 80's but very trendy! Poor Caroline...she constantly has a camera in her face!
I'm a REAL Firefighter!
Here are some really cool pics from a recent fire training day that John had. As most of you know, he is now a Lieutenant (Day Officer) and he works 7-5 Monday thru Friday instead of the 24 hr. shifts he was working. This is the last bit of fun he got to have before switching jobs.
Christian's 3rd Birthday
Here are the party decorations. It was a Thomas the Train party complete w/conductor hats!
So this is the 1st installment of a day in the life of a Haskell. We had a great little family party for Christian for his 3rd birthday. Enjoy!
