I took Caitlin to the orthopedic doc this morning, and here is what he said:
She definitely has a fracture, but it's not a bad one. Basically, the sling she is wearing is for her comfort only--she doesn't need a brace or any further intervention. He believes she'll be back to full strength before the next appointment (that's in 4 weeks), and the pain will lessen with each day. He said she's perfectly fine to go to Disneyland and ride the rides--she just has to be super careful and choose rides wisely. He told us that her only restrictions were NO GYMNASTICS for at least 6 weeks. Not a problem!
I was totally relieved to hear that she was, indeed, going to be fine. I think it boosted her confidence as well. She seemed to be in a better mood when I dropped her off at school after the appointment. Besides, she only has 2 1/2 more days of school before she gets several weeks off for break.
