A Day Of Firsts

Today has been quite hectic. I think we squeezed as much in as humanly possible--but we survived. :) Like the title says, it was a day of firsts.

Caitlin had her first volleyball game, and it was so much fun to watch! She absolutely loves playing, and she did a great job. Her team didn't win (very disappointing) but there's always tomorrow! Her team's name is the Volleygirls--appropriate I guess. A funny story from this: we were eating dinner and Caitlin pipes up, "Hey, did you hear what the other team's name was? It was the dodo birds! How stupid is that?!?!" I had to correct her. "Actually, Cait, the team's name was the Pink Panthers...but you can call them the dodo birds if it makes you feel better." Total misunderstanding on her part I'm sure. lol

John and Dad went on their first deer hunt of the season, and John got a deer! He was so excited---and I was very excited for him. They left at 4am, which if you ask me is way too early for ANYTHING..lol..but they had fun. I am definitely looking forward to eating the delicious jerky and jalepeno summer sausage that comes from this successful hunt. Hopefully no one is offended by the following picture. If so, all hate mail should be directed to John! HA!

And finally, Caroline had her first birthday pictures taken by Janice, a wonderful free-lance photographer whose husband works with John. She took Caroline's pictures when she was 3 days old, and they were terrific! It was fun to have her back to see how much Miss C has grown and changed. The funny thing was that Janice had a crazy time trying to get her to look at the camera and smile. Something about being told to sit down, hold this, wear this, look this direction, and pay attention was not what Caroline had in mind. However, the shoot went well and I can't wait to post the end results!

I hope all of you have a great rest of the weekend!
