We celebrated our 10th anniversary on July 3rd. In ways it seems like it has taken forever to get to this milestone. In other ways, it seems like we were newlyweds just last week. I can't say it's been an easy time, but I am so thankful for every second we have had together. Here is our little trip up and down memory lane! :)
*yes, it's another one with sound!*
Now about our trip to Dallas/Fort Worth...
We had such a relaxing, rejuvenating, exciting time! It was so weird to think that we had no other responsibility other than ourselves for a few days. We rented a car--got a Pontiac G6 which was a hot little number for sure--and took off toward DFW Thursday around noon. We took our precious time getting there, and the first thing we did was go shopping at Grapevine Mills Mall. I tell ya what, that's some gooooooooood shoppin' folks! John and I walked around the whole mall twice, and then we slowed down to shop. After cleaning out Old Navy, Gap, and a few other places, we stopped at the Rainforest Cafe to have our anniversary dinner. It was super yummy!! The best part was the dessert. It was called the Volcano, and it was made of about 5 huge pieces of chocolate cake, several dips of vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream on top--all in the shape of a volcano. When they bring it to you, it has a lit sparkler on top too. VERY COOL!
After dinner there, we made our way to the hotel and crashed for the night. Oh yeah--look what was waiting for us on the table every evening!
We spent the majority of Saturday at Hurricane Harbor-the water park next to Six Flags. It was HUGE!! There were so many great (and scary) rides, but we had to wait at least an hour PER RIDE, so we ended up waiting more than riding. Oh well. :) The one thing I would suggest if you are ever going to go to Hurricane Harbor---WEAR SANDALS of some sort. Our feet felt like fried pieces of bologna by the end of the day. I swear, the hot pavement melted through 3 layers of skin! At one point, I was carrying a drink and had to pour some of it out on the pavement just to give my feet some relief and be able to continue walking! It was great fun though, and John even got me to ride some of the big stuff that scared me half to death. Hard to believe, I know. :)
Check back tomorrow for more details about the trip---and MORE PICTURES!!
