I have really been thinking a lot lately about what I want to do with my life--career-wise. I LOVE being a stay at home momma and I don't think I should be in any hurry to make a change. Really, I have plenty of choices; I'm just being stubborn about picking I guess.
As we were driving to the store the other day, John asked if I ever gave anymore thought to being a cop.
Heck ya!
Being a cop was always something I wanted to pursue. I don't know if it was because my daddy was one, or if it actually came from inside ME. Either way, just the thought of wearing a uniform, slapping handcuffs on a drunken idiot, and passing out sticker badges to kids at the fair gives me a wonderful feeling.
Sad huh.
Then there's being a Respiratory Therapist. I finished 1 semester of that when I was pregnant with Christian. Something about being put on complete bedrest threw a huge kink in that one. I had fun doing clinicals at the hospitals, but then again...do I really want to spend my life rearranging nasal canulas, tubing people, and suctioning phlegm from nasty places?
Honestly, it doesn't sound terribly appealing now.
What about the Dental Hygiene degree I was working toward? There's an interesting career! Hmmmm..something about picking nastiness out of peoples' teeth on a daily basis has me at a big NEGATORY GOOD BUDDY.
Hmph.
Ok, so I guess the Army is now out of the question too (yes, I really did used to want to join). :)
I have had friends blog recently about the age-old debate: to stay at home or work. It is a tough question, but I think I'll leave it up to Him to decide. For now, I'll stick to changing poopy diapers, wiping snotty noses, and washing dirty laundry.
Way more appealing!

Being a stay at home mom is the most important job that any woman can have. It is probably the most difficult job too. I know that being a mom is much more challenging at times than being a nurse. I do know where you are coming from about not knowing what career path to follow. God will lead you in the right direction.
Did you know I am going back to school?? Don't feel bad that you still dont know what you want to be when you grow up. I think that a mom is the most important job and God will take care of the rest. Hope you guys have a good Halloween.
