Caitlin News

This is actually just to let Caitlin have a moment to shine. She had a poem assigned by her teacher that she needed to memorize. They have a yearly competition that is similar to UIL storytelling (if you public schoolers remember what this is) and they automatically get entered and have to recite their memorized poems/stories/etc not only in front of judges, but also for a test grade. Caitlin has been practicing for this since before the Christmas break, and yesterday was the big day. She didn't really want to participate. She was very nervous and frustrated at the thought of having to speak in front of judges--and do it loudly. Well, she did GREAT--she won in her division (poetry) and now gets to move on to the next round that will be held in the big town of Dalhart. She was so excited! She said, "Momma, I get to go to Dalhart! The best part is that you get to drive me there, and they have a Sonic where we can stop and get a treat!" Too funny!
One more thing: Caitlin made her 1st basket and 1st free throw in basketball games this weekend. She is really enjoying playing, even though her team has yet to win. GO CAITLIN!
